Alice and Richard Kalla Scholarship
Intensive Workshop
Introduction
Summertrios is proud to offer the Alice and Richard Kalla Scholarship in memory of longtime board member Richard Kalla and in honor of longtime participant Alice Kalla. The scholarship will be used to support a young musician who demonstrates great promise in chamber music performance and needs financial assistance to continue advancing to the next level. The scholarship will support one (1) participant in Summertrios Intensive Workshop held annually in June at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.
About Intensive Workshop
The Intensive Workshop is a week-long program designed to inspire musicians of all levels through in-depth coaching, rehearsing, and performance of two to three works. Daily coached sessions provide a deep dive into a composer’s musical language while offering valuable opportunities to refine rehearsal and performance techniques.
